Popcorn Sales

At last week’s Troop meeting, the annual Popcorn Fundraiser order forms were distributed to the Scouts. Here are a few things regarding the sale:

There are two ways to sell Popcorn

  1. Face-to-Face — collect monies up front. All checks are made payable to Troop 24. Please refer to the handout for guidelines when selling door-to-door.
  2. On-line — Please register your scout or have them set up an account on-line at http://scouts.trails-end.com. It is very easy to sell online to out-of-town relatives and friends. The scout can create a caricature of himself that is sent along with a scripted message and attaches a link directly to the Trail’s End website. All online sales are mailed directly to the purchaser but are credited to your scout.
  • Orders and full payment are due by Thursday, October 27.
  • Popcorn will be ready for pick-up on November 19 or 20, the weekend before Thanksgiving.
  • All of the popcorn profit (30% of the sales price) is allocated to the scout in the form of a credit that can be used for scouting activities, such as summer camp.

Prizes — Starting at $250 in sales, scouts have their choice of Amazon or Walmart gift cards. With $600 in sales, in addition to the gift card and Zyclone prize, the Des Plaines Valley Council will invite the scouts to an Enchanted Castle pizza party in January. In addition, the Council will also award two free tickets to a Chicago Wolves Hockey Saturday evening game in January to scouts selling a minimum of $1,500.

If your scout did not attend the last Troop meeting, is missing their forms, or has any questions, please contact our Popcorn Kernel, Anne Kodama, at amkodama@sbcglobal.net.
