Dues & Forms for 2013-2014

We held a parent meeting on September 19. Unfortunately, not many parents were available, so attendance was sparse. At that meeting we passed out “Scout Information Forms” for parents to check and update contact information for their scouts. For those parents who were not able to attend the meeting, we will get the forms to you by another method. In addition, we are now collecting dues for this school year, which will be $30 per scout. Dues can be paid by check made out to Troop 24, or online via WePay at https://www.wepay.com/events/dues-2013-2014-school-year. ALL of the dues money goes to the BSA, and due to a recent decision from the BSA to increase dues, our dues of $30/scout actually falls short of covering the cost by $6/scout. (Full dues will be $24 for BSA and $12 for Boys Life subscription, for a total of $36.)

Sign-up for Scoutmaster Conferences

Troop 24 currently has 67 active scouts. Most of them are working diligently toward their next rank advancement, which means that many scouts need Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review at the same time. To help our scoutmasters plan meetings and provide conferences expeditiously, we are asking that scouts who need a scoutmaster conference sign up online. In the upper portion of the right column on the troop website, there is now a link to sign up.

Chicago Wilderness Corporate Council Day of Service

Nature offers us many benefits: places to explore and enjoy with our families; opportunities for learning and discovery; and outdoor venues for active lifestyles. Healthy ecosystems also provide us with clean air and water, protect against flooding, filter pollutants, and provide habitat for wildlife.

On Saturday, September 28, the Chicago Wilderness Corporate Council is hosting the annual, region-wide Day of Service to give back to nature and offer residents a chance to help protect and restore the region’s natural areas. Have fun with family, friends and coworkers while contributing to the health of local nature! All of us – working together – can make a difference!

Families are welcome to volunteer, Children under 12 must be accompanied by adult
