Holiday Stroll – Friday, December 3, 2021
The Holiday Stroll is back!
Scouts & adults are needed for our annual s’mores tent at Riverside’s Holiday Stroll Friday, December 3. We provide ingredients and a campfire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. We do not charge for the s’mores, but collect a free-will offering that will go to the Riverside Presbyterian Church mission ministries. Because the donations collected will go to help those in need, service hours will be given.
We will be located at Riverside Garage, which will also host a Petting Zoo. We need two adults and three or four scouts per one-hour shift, starting at 5:00 p.m. We also need a few people for set-up (4:00) and take-down (8:00).

It’s time to renew your BSA scout membership. The cost for 2022 is $90 per scout. This includes amounts our troop must pay per member to the BSA National and Council Offices. Please pay online as soon as possible.

In the past Troop 24 has subsidized the cost of BSA dues for our adult volunteer leaders. A fee is required for each member, including our Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters and Troop Committee Members. This is a considerable cost to the troop. Jesus J Eagle Project – Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers are needed to help on Jesus J’s Eagle project.

“Hi everyone, my name is Jesus and I am a current Life Scout working on my Eagle Scout. The project I picked is to fix and repair the Riverside Little League Shed. I am currently looking for volunteers to help me. Here is the link to the signup genius. It would be great if we could get together the weekend of November 13-14 and work on it as much as possible before the snow hits. As a former little league player I have many memories playing through Riverside Little League and wish for this to continue for kids to come. Please consider signing up to volunteer as it would make a big impact on the kids, coaches, and community in general. Thank you for your time and consideration and helping me with this project.

November Troop Activities
On Sunday, November 14 at 1:00 pm, Troop 24 and family will meet at the Brookfield Zoo for the Community Tree Trim. For more information and to sign up click HERE.
There will be NO Thursday evening Troop meeting on November 11 or 18 and we will instead meet for Saturday service projects.
On Saturday November 13 at 8:30 am scouts and leaders will meet at the Riverside Presbyterian Church for the 1000 Trees planting project. Click HERE to let us know that you will attend.
On Saturday November 20 at 8:30 am scouts, leaders and family members will meet at the McCormick Woods Pavilion (Cook County Forest Preserve) for a Buckthorn removal project. Click HERE to let us know that you will attend.
