Troop 24 Reminders
Troop Meeting Tonight – Thursday, October 28 at 6pm by Zoom. See Scoutmaster Flassing’s email for Zoom log in information.
Tomorrow is the last chance to sign up for the November 5-7 Indiana Dunes Campout – click HERE for more info and the sign up.
Tree Trim at the Brookfield Zoom will be Sunday, November 14th at 1:00 – sign up HERE.
Court of Honor will take place Thursday evening, November 4th. Family members are encouraged to attend with their scout.
Troop 24 Outdoor Service Projects will take place on Saturday mornings November 13 and November 20. More info will be announced soon.
TROOP 24 BROOKFIELD ZOO TREE TRIM
Troop 24 Families:
Please join us on SUNDAY NOVEMBER 14TH AT 1:00 PM for some holiday merriment at the Brookfield Zoo tree trim. With a mask, of course. Troop 24’s “community tree” is located along the walkways within the zoo. Our tree is number 449, located on the North Mall, near
The Carousel.
• We have 20 ZOO PASSES AND FIVE SOUTH LOT PARKING PASSES available for the event. We’ll arrange retrieval of the passes at a later date.
• If you have a Zoo membership, you can simply visit the zoo at 1:00 PM and join us.
• The sign in front of our tree will read:
o Decorated by: Riverside Scout Troop 24
o Donated by: Riverside Scout Troop 24
o Town: Riverside
• Layouts of the malls will be posted at the gate to help us find our tree within the zoo.
Ornaments
• Let’s be creative!
• Click here to review the Zoo’s Tree Trim ornament guidelines. The Zoo will remove tinsel, glass/breakable ornaments, and decorations made with food.
• Finally, if you would like to donate an ornament for the tree but can’t attend the event, a box will be placed in the Church front door alcove for your donation, sometime in November.

Popcorn Update
Happy Fall! Popcorn sales end 10/21/21 and all order forms should be submitted at the Thursday meeting. Late orders and payments can be dropped off at my house (147 S Delaplaine Rd) by 10/23/21. Online sales will still be active. Scouts will get all 33% of their sales toward their personal Troop accounts for use throughout the year. Thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts.

Campfire Dinner this Sunday, October 10 @Waterfall Glen, Willowbrook
With Waterfall Glen being such a close campout, we have decided to host campfire dinner for scout parents. If you are curious and would like to see what a scout campout is all about, are thinking of getting more involved but would like to know more first, or just want to stop by and say hello this one is for you. All scout parents are welcome; even if your scout is not attending this weekend’s campout.
Dinner will start around 6-6:30pm on SUNDAY night, October 10. Please email flassing@yahoo.com and let us know if you can make it.
