PTAC Camporee – The Future Frontier

October 11th-13th, 2019

Join Scouts from all over the council for Pathway to Adventure’s first-ever council-wide camporee – The Future Frontier!

This camp out will be held at Busse Woods, a 30 minute drive from home. This will be a great campout and the very first Council Wide camporee! Join other Scout Troops in experiencing programs and activities that you can’t always find on unit outings or even summer camp – including BMX cycling, robot building, hands-on STEM experiments, obstacle courses, rocket launches, (and so much more!) and then complete the weekend with an incredible closing show!

This camp out will be $55 for the weekend.

Our first September meeting under our new youth leadership and in our new Patrols takes place this Thursday at 7:00 pm in the gym at RPC.

We will pursue a “cooking competency” theme – as we prepare for camp-out cooking in the coming few months – and conclude with a rousing game of Gaga-ball.

Our theme will culminate in the execution of the same dish by all the Patrols.

NOTE: “Trail to Eagle” Scouts [First Class/Star/Life] will enjoy a special survey-of-interest session with Mr. Friend and Mr. Perry.

We’ll also distribute Camp Tesomas patches for those who don’t have one yet.

FINALLY, don’t forget our October camp-out – our Council’s own “Future Frontier” Camporee, where we can put our Scout Skills into practice. It’s not far from home, and should be fun for all!

PARENTS – Registration is filling up and we really need 2 parent chaperones to make this camp out a success. As a parent chaperone you will transport 3+ Scouts to and from camp, while enjoying the great outdoors at Camp Owasippe. Bring your favorite tent and sleeping bag and leave the rest to the Scouts.  Parent registration is HERE

Camp Owasippe in Twin Lake, Michigan is the United State’s VERY FIRST Scout campground and has more than 4,800 acres for campers to explore. The Troop hasn’t been to Camp Owasippe in more than 4 years so this will be a new and exciting experience for every Scout! Scouts will enjoy activities like Rifle, Shotgun, Archery, Climbing, Canoeing, Kayaking, and much more. This will also be a great time to catch up with your Scout friends, work on rank advancements, and have a great time with the Troop. SCOUT registration is HERE

This camp out runs from Friday Sept. 27th through Sunday Sept. 29th and will cost $40.00.

We’re looking forward to an exciting Scout Year.

The season’s first meeting takes place this Thursday, September 5th at 7pm in the gym at Riverside Presbyterian Church.

We will hold Troop SPL Elections, organize Patrols, and have a pizza party to celebrate the new youth leadership and the coming year.

So dust off your Class A, remember your Handbook, and be ready for a Patrol-based survey-of-interest, conducted by your PL and APL.

We’ll also have Summer Camp lost and found items on-site, for your retrieval.
