Rank Requirement Worksheets

All Boy Scouts must now be working under the rank requirements in the 13th Edition Boy Scout Handbook (published in 2016). If you do not have this edition of the handbook, you can insert the current Rank Requirement Worksheets in the back of the handbook you have. Here is a link to the worksheets: http://www.scouting.org/filestore/boyscouts/pdf/524-012_BS_Requirements.pdf Be sure to attach hem securely into your book, as this is the official record of your rank advancement. It is also a good idea to photocopy these pages occasionally in case your book ever is lost.

Michael Anthony’s Dinner Fundraiser

Don’t forget – Troop 24 will be holding a Family Night at Michael Anthony’s restaurant this Sunday, November 6th from 4 to 7 pm. Come and enjoy dinner and an evening out with your family and Troop 24 friends. We will have board games, card games, big screen TVs, and pizza or other great food from their menu. (Please bring the receipt to the next troop meeting). The restaurant is located at 6434 Ogden Avenue in Berwyn, we will be in their Party Room.

Haunted Hike

Pathway to Adventure Council’s Lakota Lodge presents their 21sth Annual Haunted Hike on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22, 2016 at the Methodist Campground, 1890 East Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, IL. The theme “Night Terror!” and the historic campground’s creepy old buildings and woods make a perfect setting for a night of chills. The Hike travels by guided tour through much of the camp, where costumed Order of the Arrow members present spooky scenes and stories for the guests.
Troop 24 scouts and their family and friends are encouraged to attend Saturday evening between 7 and 10 pm. (You will need to arrange your own transportation or carpool.) One guided hike is included with admission, and the hikes get scarier the later it gets in the evening.
In addition to the Hike itself, a circus tent at the front will have a rock band and other entertainment. Nearby, there will be a bonfire and you are invited to bring marshmallows and other supplies and stay a while longer. Souvenir patches and concessions are available.
All this is a bargain, especially compared to area haunted houses. Cost is
$7 for Scouts and Scouters in uniform
$8 for kids and
$9 for adults,13 and up.
