The EAA Museum has told us that they will not be able to host our scouts this weekend unless we have 15 participants. At this point 10 scouts have signed up. If you are interested, please sign up ASAP. Our limit is 20 scouts. Although the museum would prefer to have scouts who have not earned the Aviation Merit Badge, we are opening this up to all scouts. Our outing to the Experimental Aviation Association Musuem in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin is this weekend. The scouts will be leaving at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and returning about noon on Sunday. In the past this outing has been very popular. This year we have 20 spots available, but only 8 scouts have signed up. Since we are paying for 20 slots, whether we use them or not, we are now opening up the outing to scouts who have attended this event in the past. Troop 24 will have a day outing to Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve for scouts to complete their 5-mile hike and orienteering requirements. Scouts should check if they need this requirements. Older scouts may attend and help with scouts completing requirements. Please note in comment section. Scouts should bring a water bottle, compass, and sack lunch.
Departing: RPC at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9
Returning: Mid to late afternoon to RPC on Saturday, November 9

Join Troop 24 for a fun outing to the Experimental Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to complete your aviation merit badge. You will work on your merit badge, tour the museum, and sleep there too! Please do not sign up for this outing if you have already completed your aviation merit badge. Next weekend we have planned camping, fishing , hiking and possibly biking at Gebhardt Woods State Park located in Morris, Illinois. The Scouts will leave RPC on Friday, October 4, at 5:00 p.m., and will return at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 6. The cost of this trip is $25. The deadline for registering is OCTOBER 1.

In order for the scouts to be able to bike we need to have at least two more adults attend. All biking participants need to make sure they bring their helmets and that their bikes are in good working condition. Scouts who would like to fish will need to bring their own equipment.
