Hello Scouts,

You should be on your way to selling popcorn BUT if you haven’t already started there is still time. Remember, one third of what you sell is for you to use to help offset the cost of things like camp outs and summer camp! It’s a great way to support the scouting movement and to make a bit of money for your outings.

I have heard fantastic feedback regarding how the popcorn sales are going so far. Keep up the good work!

Online sales are a great way to get more sales without having to go door to door. To set-up an online account:

1: Visit www.trails-end.com
2: Click “REGISTER”: in the top right-hand corner
3: Select SCOUT/PARENT as the type of account you would like to register
4: Select whether you are under the age of 13
5: Continue to complete your registration following the instructions provided:

Popcorn will be available for pick up starting Sunday at noon. Scouts who sold popcorn should contact Vince Pecis at vrpecis@gmail.com to schedule a time to pick up their orders.

Any scouts who sold popcorn for our fundraiser must turn in their order form and money no later than Sunday, October 16th. Scouts who did not turn in the form at Thursday’s meeting should bring the form and money to Vince Pecis at 426 Kent in Riverside. If you have questions, contact him at vrpecis@gmail.com. Mr. Pecis will contact you when popcorn is available for pick up.

Troop 24 will soon begin its annual popcorn sales fundraiser. Sales forms will be available to scouts at Thursday meetings in September. You should have received a postcard about Star Wars themed training events which the Council has scheduled for scouts and their parents to help you “join the force” and become popcorn sales masters. The one–hour trainings will take place this Saturday from 9:00 until noon. Please pre-register at https://scoutingevent.com/456-9143. Thank you to Vince Pecis for volunteering as our new Popcorn “Kernel”. Questions about the popcorn sale can be sent to him at vrpecis@gmail.com.

For scouts who sold popcorn:  You need to pick up your popcorn, this Saturday, between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. at 288 Gage Road in Riverside.

ALL popcorn orders are due to our Popcorn Kernel TONIGHT. Scouts can bring orders to the meeting, or order forms and payment can be dropped off at Anne Kodama’s home. Please contact Anne at amkodama@sbcglobal.net to get directions to her house and schedule a drop-off time.

Orders must be accompanied by full payment (in other words, if your scout took any orders without getting payment, you will need to pay for the popcorn and get paid when it’s delivered. Scouts should not have sold with an I.O.U.).

Parents: please tally counts by popcorn variety and check the totals to be sure the money turned in equals the amount ordered. Our Popcorn Kernel prefers checks only. If your scout collected cash, please keep the cash and write a check to Troop 24 for that amount. Your scout’s names should be on all order forms, and forms and checks should be placed in an envelope.

We are entering the final days for our Scouts to sell Popcorn. All order forms are due at the Troop meeting, this Thursday, October 15. Take advantage of the good weather and earn more money for camp! Last chance to ask family, neighbors, co-workers and friends if they’d like to support Scouting through the purchase of Popcorn. All orders are due to Popcorn Kernel Anne Kodama by Thursday.

SELL MORE, EARN MORE
IN LIEU OF PRIZES, our Troop elected to receive an additional 5% credit to the Scouts’ popcorn sale totals. That’s a total of 35% of their individual sales total, including take and online orders, to be credited to next year’s summer camp fees. This goes a long way to assist families in bringing down the cost of Camp Tesomas. The more you sell, the closer you are to attending camp free of charge!

As presented at Kick-Off, ALL Scouts selling at least $1,200 of popcorn remain eligible to participate in the “Choose Your Own Adventure” recognition program. Adventures include:

• K1 Speed Indoor Go-Karting

Sell $3,500 – Your name will be put on the Council’s Popcorn Cup Trophy
GRAND PRIZE – Sell $4,000 – Receive two tickets to a 2016 Chicago Blackhawks Game!!!
When turning in orders, please include both order forms and full payment in an envelope.

PARENTS – please review orders to confirm all totals are correct and full payment has been collected. Remember, all popcorn must be paid for in advance. You must make arrangements to drop off Popcorn Order Forms with the Popcorn Kernel if you are not attending Thursday’s meeting.

Popcorn pick-up will be Saturday, November 7.
