Final Week to Sell Popcorn

We are entering the final week for our Scouts to sell Popcorn. All order forms are due on October 17. Last chance to ask family, neighbors, co-workers and friends if they’d like to support Scouting through the purchase of Popcorn.

Remember, 30% of YOUR SCOUT’S individual sales total (take orders and internet purchases) will directly be credited to next year’s summer camp fees. This goes a long way to assist families in bringing down the cost of Camp Tesomas. The more you sell, the closer you are to attending camp free of charge!

Please see Scoutmaster Hartwig or Popcorn Kernel Anne Kodama for additional order forms, if needed. If your Scout is ready to turn in their completed order forms, please do so tonight after a parent reviews the totals and writes a check for the amount of cash collected. Remember, all popcorn must be paid for in advance. Any Questions? Please contact our Popcorn Kernel at amkodama@sbcglobal.net.

Popcorn Fundraiser

At Thursday’s Troop meeting, the annual Popcorn Fundraiser Order Forms were distributed to the Scouts. Popcorn Scout Credits

Our Popcorn Kernel, Mrs. Kodama, reports that 35 scouts sold a total of $12,218 worth of popcorn, yielding a credit for Scout activities of $3,600!. Our top three sellers this year (in order of sales) were: Jimmy S ($1,562), Skye O.($1,180), and Alex H. ($1,103). Thank you to all the Scouts who participated in the Show and Sells, as well as went door to door selling. You did a great job!

Popcorn Orders Due TONIGHT – Thursday, Oct. 18

ALL popcorn orders are due to our Popcorn Kernel this Thursday, October 18. Scouts can bring orders to the meeting, or order forms and payment can be dropped off at Anne Kodama’s home. Please contact Anne at amkodama@sbcglobal.net to get directions to her house and schedule a drop-off time. Orders must be accompanied by full payment (in other words, if your scout took any orders without getting payment, you will need to pay for the popcorn and get paid when it’s delivered. Scouts should not have sold with an I.O.U.). Parents: please tally counts by popcorn variety and check the totals to be sure the money turned in equals the amount ordered. Our Popcorn Kernel requests checks only. If your scout collected cash, please keep the cash and write a check to Troop 24 for that amount. Your scout’s names should be on all order forms, and forms and checks should be placed in an envelope. Please contact Anne with any questions.

Popcorn News

At a recent Troop meeting, the annual Popcorn Fundraiser order forms were distributed to the Scouts. Here are a few things regarding the sale:

There are two ways to sell Popcorn

  1. Face-to-Face — collect monies up front. All checks are made payable to Troop 24. Please refer to the handout for guidelines when selling door-to-door.
  2. On-line — Please register your scout or have them set up an account on-line at http://scouts.trails-end.com. It is very easy to sell online to out-of-town relatives and friends. All online sales are mailed directly to the purchaser but are credited to your scout.
  • Orders and full payment are due by Thursday, October 18.
  • Popcorn will be ready for pick-up on November 17, the weekend before Thanksgiving.
  • All of the popcorn profit (30% of the sales price) is allocated to the scout in the form of a credit that can be used for scouting activities, such as summer camp.
  • Prizes — Starting at $250 in sales, scouts have their choice of Amazon or Walmart gift cards.
