THURSDAY MEETING 7:00 AT VILLAGE HALL

We will start our Thursday meeting promptly at 7:00 pm at Village Hall where we will be presented with a Proclamation from the Village of Riverside.  FULL Uniforms are required with Scout Pants, Shirt and Neckerchiefs.  We will then adjourn to our normal meeting place at RPC.

  • All Patrols will meet to plan their menus and patrol boxes for the May 25 Year End Cook Off.
  • Anniversary Program participants will meet to rehearse their respective parts in the Program.
  • Sign up for Scoutmaster Conferences if needed.
  • Sign up for Memorial Day Color Guard.
  • Sign up for Kankakee Campout.

May 25 Meeting marks our final meeting of the Scout year and Boards of Review will be in session for all those who need them, sign up on line.

THURSDAY May 4 TROOP 24 MEETING 7:00 PM

We had a wet camp out this past weekend but look forward to returning to Camp Ingersoll sometime.  All Ingersoll scouts MUST return tents and equipment on Thursday.  Check in equipment with Mr. Lauger.  Next Camp out is Illini State Park on May 12-14; sign up ends TOMORROW.  Don’t miss out on this exciting weekend.

Bravo/Delta Patrol Meeting Sunday

All First Year scouts are encouraged to attend the Bravo & Delta Patrol meeting on Sunday evening at 7:00 in the RPC Social Hall.  Come prepared to finish your Scout Rank Requirements and have a Scoutmaster Conference.  Review your unfinished requirements, practice, and achieve the Scout Rank for recognition at our forthcoming Court of Honor on Thursday.

To earn the Scout Rank all scouts need to complete requirement #6:With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide and earn the Cyber Chip Award for your grade. The Pamphlet is located in the very front of the Scout Handbook.

To earn the Cyber Chip go to: http://www.netsmartz.org/scouting.  We will be using the green 6-8 grade Cyber Chip. The scout and parent must complete #2 at home:  Write and sign a personalized contract with your parent or guardian that outlines rules for using the computer and mobile devices, including what you can download, what you can post, and consequences for inappropriate use.  The scout should be prepared to lead the activities set forth in #4.  We will cover the rest at the meeting.

Patrol Leaders Council Meeting Tonight and Thursday Meeting

REMINDER:  PATROL LEADERS COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT AT 6:00 PM.

 

We had a great Camp Out at Bullfrog Lake if a little cold.  We went for a hike, worked on advancement requirements, retired some flags and ate like kings.  Looking forward to our next camp outs, hope to see more of you there.
