We have 3 scouts & 4 adults registered so far (which does not include our tour leader & his son, who still need to register!) Registration is only open until Wednesday, September 22.

Our Seabase Crews arrived safely and spent 6 hours at Cape Canaveral on Saturday. Some of them are pictured below outside the Kennedy Space Center.

Troop 24 received a generous donation from a former scout who found our website. Thanks to Gint Rimas, a member of Troop 24 from the late 1980’s to mid-1990’s!

Troop dues of $25 per Scout were due on November 15. Please submit payment along with the Scout Commitment form you received in the mail to Jim Marciniak at 249 Gage Road in Riverside. It is essential that we collect dues from all Scouts in order to be sure everyone is registered on the Troop’s 2010 annual charter with national Scouting.

Watch your mailbox for a letter from Troop 24 this week about reinstatement of a dues payment for the 2009-2010 Scouting year to help defray the cost of the Troop’s annual rechartering with the national Scouting organization. RPC has recently had the gym floor refinished, at a considerable cost. They are requesting that street shoes not be worn in the gym–only white-soled gym shoes. Since the scouts don’t have an opportunity to change shoes, we are requesting their cooperation in protecting the new surface by removing their shoes at the door.

The Troop 24 Committee Meeting scheduled for July 7 has been canceled.

All scouts are invited to attend the Memorial Day ceremony in Riverside at Guthrie Park on Monday, May 25, at 10:00 a.m. Please wear your full Class A uniform, as you would for a Court of Honor. Scouts from Troop 24 have been asked to raise and lower the flag, and the Memorial Day Committee would appreciate having as many scouts in uniform attend as are available. If you plan to be in town on Monday, please be at the flagpole in Guthrie Park (between the train station and the library) no later than 9:55.
