We will NOT have a regular Troop meeting this week since we have an outing on Friday night (Sky High Trampoline) and on Saturday (Vertical Endeavors Climbing).

However, we will have a Patrol Leader Meeting in lieu of the regular meeting. This will be a planning meeting for January & February meetings.

We will be planning the meetings with an eye on our January & February outings (Luge, Klondike, Skiing) We will focus on cold weather activities and camping. Pizza will be served. If any of the scouts listed above will not be able to attend, please e-mail Scoutmaster Flaherty.

With 3 exceptions, we have e-mail addresses for all our “Star & Above” Patrol, but we would appreciate receiving e-mail addresses for any scout who is 1st Class rank or below. Our holiday “party” is next Friday, December 11, at Sky High Trampoline. We have 30 spots available, but only 11 scouts have signed up. Friday, December 4, is the deadline for signing up for the Muskegon Luge, because we need to purchase tickets in advance. If you are interested, please sign up now! • Available to scouts that are of Star rank or above, must be at least 12 years old and must have the First Aid MB.

Scouts will meet at Vertical Endeavors in Glendale Heights at 7:45 AM on Saturday December 12.  This is a five-hour class in which Scouts can meet all of the requirements for the BSA Climbing Merit Badge. Badge requirements include belaying, rappelling, knot tying, rope management and other general safety requirements. Each scout will at least belay 3 times, climb 3 times and repel 3 times in the 5 hours.  There will also be time spent sitting down and reviewing safety and other education regarding climbing.

The cost for this outing is $40.  And must be paid through Constant Contact (WePay) for the scout to be considered registered.

Scouts should bring:

• Blue Card – signed by a scout master
• Vertical Endeavors Climbing waiver signed by a parent
  • digital waiver
  • printable waiver
• sack lunch – there will be a 30 min lunch break
• gym shoes
• wear clothing appropriate for climbing

St. Mary’s Parish is in need of Scouts to help set up for the Milk & Cookies with St. Nick event on Sunday, December 6 from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and take down from 2:00-2:30 p.m. at the St. Mary Parish Center, 126 Herrick Road, Riverside. Everyone is welcome to enjoy milk and cookies with St. Nick from 9-2. Service hours will be awarded.

The Troop will be going to the Sky High Trampoline Sports in Naperville Illnois on December 11 to celebrate finishing exams and the Holiday break.

• When you register your scout you must complete the on-line waiver (link included below)
• Parents are asked to provide transportation for their scouts to & from the event.
• Scouts should be at the facility at 5:40 p.m. to check in to start at 6:00 p.m.
• Pick up will be at 8:15 p.m.
• The cost per scout is $20
• We also need adults to attend as chaperones. If you are willing to supervise scouts between games and serve pizza, please indicate on the form when you sign up your scout.
