This will likely be the last chance to complete this requirement before next spring. There are 32 scouts (of 59) who need this requirement.

Upcoming Outings

Registration is now closed for the White Pines camp-out, but we have two more outings before the end of the year. On November 12, we’ll have a day outing to Waterfall Glen for orienteering, and on Thanksgiving weekend, a 2-night cabin camp-out at Herrick Lake.

Waterfall Glen Orienteering Nov. 12

Volunteer Needed for November 10 Court of Honor

The Troop will hold our fall Court of Honor, honoring our scouts’ advancements, on November 10. We need at least one parent to offer to coordinate the “reception” for the event (sign up bakers, set up the serving table, and monitor clean-up). Please contact Nancy Hopkins if you are willing to help.

American Heritage Merit Badge

Scouts who are working on the American Heritage Merit Badge are invited to come to the Westminster Room at RPC (lower level) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13.

Canned Food Drive

During the remainder of the month we will be collecting canned foods as a service project in conjunction with RPC. The food will be given to the Riverside Food Pantry (to the extent that they need it, and extra will go to 1st Presbyterian in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago for their food pantry). Scout families are invited to send cans of food with their scouts to the Troop meetings on October 13, 20, 27. Thanks for your generosity!
