Merit Badge News

Troop 24 will provide the opportunity to earn several merit badges this spring. During Troop meetings, we will work on Art and First Aid merit badges. On Sunday, May 22 from 3 to 5 pm we will have a troop Swimming merit badge class at the Pav YMCA.

For general information about how to earn merit badges, click HERE.

Our Council is offering an upcoming program for scouts to earn several merit badges and the World Conservation Award. Click HERE for a flyer. Troop 24 will have a leader present so don’t let that requirement stop you from signing up. This is a limited enrollment program so please call the number on the flyer ASAP if interested.

Three Fires Council has a merit badge day on May 7 at Camp Big Timber in Elgin.

See our previous post for other local and online classes. We highly recommend the Oak Brook Trout Unlimited Fly Fishing merit badge and the St. Louis Chess Club online Chess merit badge. Both are free and very good!

Merit Badge classes are not Troop events and you will need to provide your own transportation.

Scouting for Food Service Project

There is NO Troop meeting tonight. We hope you are enjoying your spring break!

Service Project this Saturday and next Saturday:
Scouting for Food is the Boy Scouts of America’s nationwide service project to help stop hunger in our communities. It began as a Scout’s service project in St. Louis, MO in 1985 and was adopted by the Boy Scout National Organization in 1988.

Pathway to Adventure Council will hold a council-wide Scouting for Food program that takes place on two consecutive weekends. On the first weekend, Scouts distribute bags or door hangers within their assigned area to let their neighbors know about the drive. On the second weekend, Scouts revisit those houses to pick up nonperishable items. Our Troop will then drop off collected food items at the Riverside Presbyterian Church Little Free Food Pantry. Scouts will receive service hour credit. Scouts and Adult Volunteers sign up at the links below:
