Uniform Guidelines for Troop 24

At a regular meeting, the Scout is expected to have the following:

Scout “Class A” shirt with green or red* epaulets on the shoulders
Red* scout neckerchief (1st class & above should wear the neckerchief with the embroidered Troop 24 logo)
A slide for the neckerchief with some form of a Boy Scout logo
The scout’s current rank on the left front pocket
Socks & Gym Shoes

At a formal ceremony (Parent Night, Court of Honor, Eagle Ceremony) the following is required:

Scout “Class A” shirt with green or red* epaulets on the shoulders
Green or red* scout neckerchief (1st class & above should wear the neckerchief with the embroidered Troop 24 logo)
A slide for the neckerchief with some form of a Boy Scout logo
The scout’s current rank on the left front pocket
Pants in olive green or tan color
A scout belt with the scout buckle
Green sash with the scout merit badges sewn on

New scouts should purchase the tan “Class A” shirt, green shoulder epaulets, a slide, a scout belt, and the following insignia: World Crest, DesPlaines Valley Council shoulder patch, and unit numbers (24). In addition, the Arrow of Light patch can be worn below the left pocket. The Troop will provide the neckerchief and the rank insignia. For instructions on placement of the patches, click here.

* The new uniform standards by BSA call for green shoulder epaulets and (preferably) a green neckerchief; however, Troop 24 will continue to use a red neckerchief.
