Troop 24 welcomes guest speaker Hon. David Navarro who will speak to us about the Constitutional rights and obligations of a U.S. Citizen to complete First Class requirement 9a.   Judge Navarro was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court as a Circuit Judge to the Circuit Court of Cook County on May 25, 2017. He is currently assigned to the First Municipal Division where he presides over felony preliminary hearings, misdemeanors and traffic related offenses.  Prior to becoming a judge, David Navarro was an Assistant Attorney General with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office where he served as Chief of the Public Integrity Bureau.  From 1994-2009, he served as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. During his time with Cook County, he served as the supervisor of the Professional Standards Unit of the office. He was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney shortly after.  Meeting will begin in the Social Hall promptly at 7:00 pm.  We are in need of a projector and cords for a laptop if someone can bring it to the meeting.

Go to http://www.netsmartz.org/scouting to review the requirements.  Once you have completed the Read, Write and Watch requirements, please sign up on the Troop 24 website to schedule a meeting to complete the Teach and Talk requirements.  We have the Cards.  The chip expires after one year, see Scoutmaster Flaherty to “Recharge” or renew the Chip.
