Robert M Eagle Project Workday – Saturday, May 18

A message from Robert M about his Eagle Project:

Last weekend we created two cages to protect the plants we are planting this Saturday May 18th. The work day will start at 10:00 am at the Wolfe Wildlife Refuge in Oak Lawn (W 109th St &, Laramie Ave, Oak Lawn). Rides will offered to anyone that needs them, we will pick up scouts around 9:00 am. During the workday we will plant the plants within the cages after weeding. The work day will conclude around 1:00 pm and scouts can get a ride back as well. Food and water will be provided. Scouts should wear long pants and shoes that can get dirty. If the scouts have any work gloves at home they should also bring those.

Troop Meeting – Thursday, May 9

Bon Appetit!

On Thursday, we will delve into things culinary and begin our Cooking theme.

It all begins with menu-planning, so come with ideas for a tasty menu for the month-end “cook-off”! We’ll also have recipe cards available for inspiration.

Millbrook horse-back riding Scouts will also settle their patrols and work on weekend camp-out menus.

Since the weather may not be agreeable, we’ll wait for a better week to complete the Tenderfoot Fitness monthly check-in for the Crossover Scouts.

Don’t Miss Your Chance to earn the Elusive Horsemanship Merit Badge!

Horsemanship is one of those badges that most Scouts never earn. It can be difficult to find a facility, a counselor, and is one of the more costly MB classes once you find it. We are excited to have found the Millbrook Horse Ranch, to offer this elusive Merit Badge to our Scouts. Our weekend will be packed with fun and adventure and we hope your Scout can join us!
