Attention Life Scouts and Parents of Life Scouts (or those Scouts close to attaining Life Rank)
As announced at the October Court of Honor, there is a Life to Eagle presentation on Tuesday, November 26. Even better, it is to be held in Riverside at the Township Hall! (Right next to the Village Hall)
This presentation will go over in depth the procedures for starting, working on, and completing your Eagle Scout Service Project. Even if you are just starting to think about what you might want to do for a project, this presentation may offer insight on what is/is not acceptable so you can minimize your effort and maximize your success.
Although you can just come that night and register, it is recommended you register in advance so they know how many they should expect to attend. (Like the troop, if there is not enough interest, the Council may cancel this event. This is so close we don’t want it to be cancelled as the next one may require travel of up to an hour to attend.)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Rogers at rogersr2@ameritech.net.
Don’t forget that Joe Rogers’ Eagle Court of Honor is this Sunday, November 3, at RPC at 3:00 p.m. Scouts should wear their uniforms (shirt, neckerchief & nice pants–no jeans or shorts). If they have a sash, they should wear that as well. Parents are encouraged to attend–to prepare for your own son’s Eagle ceremony some day!
Also on Sunday, RPC will honor Joe’s achievement. All Troop 24 families are invited to attend worship at 10:00 a.m. and the Coffee Fellowship at 11:00 a.m. following the service.
Congratulations to Troop 24′s newest Eagle Scout, Abraham Ourth!

Michael Gmitro is looking for High School aged Scouts to help with the second part of his Eagle Project. A few adults are also needed. This portion of the project involves installing the wood duck boxes on trees along the Des Plaines River near Indian Gardens. The date is Sunday, December 30, from 9:00 until complete (with an anticipated completion time of noon). Meet at Indian Gardens baseball field. An additional 12 ft or 20 ft extension ladder and cordless drills are also needed. If you have these tools that we can use or can help with the installation, please contact Mike at mxgmitro@comcast.net
